Hello All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Joe made it
through his second 1 night chemo treatment fairly well. He
didn't get sick at all this time. Hopefully this will continue
with the other side effects as well. Joe actually ate a pretty
good amount of hospital pizza (mmmm, good) for lunch the next
day before we went home. He made some more friends at the
hospital and the nurses all love Joey. One nurse told me she
wished all the kids were as friendly and cooperative as Joe.
Joe's next treatment is a 5 night and should begin March 14th
(assuming his blood counts are ok). I double checked all the
other dates and it looked like they are correct per the road map
we were given. We have an appointment with Dr. McGrath (the
surgeon) on Monday February 27th so hopefully we will know a
little more about the timing of the surgery after that
appointment. Dr. Green (the oncologist) stopped by yesterday and
was impressed with the progress he could see and feel in Joe's
leg in terms of the tumor shrinking. He thought that was a very
positive sign. Once again thanks to all of you for your
continued help and support and prayers through all of this.
